Weather painted as folklore
The real forecast for where you are, from Apple Weather, painted as a living impressionist landscape. The old stories arrive with the weather: a storm dragon in the thunder, the Cailleach in the snow, will-o’-the-wisps in the fog.
Three worlds, one forecast
Pick a world and the same forecast is retold in it. The scenes are quiet and a little eerie, never cartoonish, with small movements that keep them alive. Drag through the hours and the painting changes with the weather, from afternoon sun to evening storm to a clear, moonlit night.
British Isles
Moor, standing stones and the old oak. The storm dragon rises with the thunder, the Cailleach brings the frost, will-o’-the-wisps gather in the fog and the Morrígan’s crows come with a falling barometer.
Norse
Fjord, longhouse and the ash tree. Thor’s storms, frost giants in the cold, draugr in the mist, Jörmungandr in the gales, and Valkyries riding the aurora.
Chinese Folklore Coming soon
Lei Gong’s thunder, the Dragon King’s rain, Qingnü’s snow on the summit and Chang’e on the moon.
